The Bible Course: Schools Edition

July 2022

The Bible Course is an eight-session course, originally written for use in churches, that explores what the Bible is, what story it tells, and how that relates to your work in a school. This additional resource is intended to be used alongside The Bible Course to help you to apply the better knowledge and understanding of the Bible you gain from the eight sessions to your work in schools.

In each session, there are two 15-minute films to watch. The Bible Course manual includes summaries of the key points, space to take notes, reflection questions and a plan of daily readings. This Schools Edition provides further reflections that relate to the context of working in a school and link to Understanding Christianity and the SIAMS framework.

To complete the course, you’ll also need a copy of The Bible Course manual and videos, available as DVDs or as a download.

The Mark 10 Mission - The Good Shepherd

May 2022

Two brand new liturgies to celebrate Jesus as 'The Good Shepherd ' In the Gospel Jesus says "The sheep that belong to me listen to my voice; I know them and they follow me." We want these liturgies to help children understand how they can hear the voice of God themselves. We pray that these liturgies help children encounter Jesus but we also hope that they build the confidence of teachers. In the reflection, there are simple steps given on how to encourage children to enter into silent prayer. The guided prayer time also gives an excellent model of how to lead this.
